Cuba assured continued support for the Common Fund
21 January 2025, The Hague. Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Belal, Managing Director of the Common Fund for Commodities, paid a farewell call to H.E. Ms. Anet Pino Rivero, Alternate Governor of CFC for Cuba and Ambassador of Cuba to the Netherlands, to register thanks and appreciation to Ambassador Pino Rivero as she is preparing to leave upon completion of her tour of duty.
Ambassador Belal also requested voluntary contribution from Cuba as well as requested the esteemed country to encourage other member states through it’s leadership in the GRULAC and beyond for a tangible support for the CFC to meet the gap between demand and supply.
Ambassador Pino Rivero thanked as well as expressed her gratitude to Ambassador Belal for taking the trouble of visiting their Embassy. She further mentioned that Cuba will continue to be supportive for the CFC. Ambassador Pino Rivero also asked Ambassador Belal to convey her thanks to all CFC staff member for “their outstanding performances to address the problem of poverty through commodity value chain approach”.
Ambassador Pino Rivero also register her appreciation to Ambassador Belal for his visionary programme known as “Humanizing Value Chain”. She advised Ambassador Belal to share his thought with the UN ecosystem.
Ambassador Pino Rivero assured that she will remain active following CFC’s activities wherever she is. She further mentioned that she will suggest her successor to remain engaged with the CFC.
Ambassador Belal thanked Ambassador Pino Rivero to receive him at a very short notice and wished her good health and continued success in the future.
